Bone Stock Rules

  • - All plastic must be removed from the mower.

    - All mowers must be front-engine, belt-driven lawn mowers.

    - No garden tractors permitted.

    - 3/4" axles only.

    - Any wheel and tire setup is permitted.

    - No pulley swaps.

    - All stock parts must remain stock.

  • - Front pivot joint may be bolted solid for a stiff suspension.

    - No welding allowed for suspension modifications.

    - Steering, seat, and fenders may be adjusted for comfort only.

    - Modifications may not strengthen the mower.

    - Headers, pedals, and shifters are permitted.

    - Cable shifter brackets may be mounted to the body or frame.

    - Maximum weld length for shifter bracket mounting is 2 inches.

  • - Absolutely no welding or reinforcing inside or outside the hood.

    - Plastic grill inserts may be replaced with sheet metal if desired.

    - Hood may be secured with bolts or wire in four (4) locations only.

  • ### Factory Bumpers

    - Factory lawn mower bumpers are permitted.

    - Must be bolted only.

    - Maximum of two mounting points per side.

    ### Homemade Bumpers

    - Homemade bumpers are permitted.

    - May be welded or bolted.

    - May only be welded to the frame.

    ### Specifications

    - Maximum bumper shock length: 5 inches.

    - Minimum gap between bumper and frame: 1 inch.

    - Maximum material size: 2" x 2" x 1/8".

    - Front bumper must be flat.

    - Maximum bumper width: 17 inches.

  • - Cage may only be welded to sheet metal.

    - No part of the cage may touch the frame.

    - Cage must begin at least 8 inches behind the front tire.

    - Cage must stop before the rear axle.

    - Cage may not connect to bumper shocks.

    - Maximum cage height: 13 inches from bottom to top.

  • - Absolutely no welding on the frame except:

      - Approved 5-inch bumper shocks.

      - Approved homemade bumper mounting.

    - Body may NOT be welded to the frame.

  • - Gas tanks must be securely mounted at all times.

    - Unsecured gas tanks will result in immediate disqualification.

  • ### First Roll Over

    - If the mower is flipped back over and still running, competition may continue.

    ### Second Roll Over

    - Driver is eliminated.

  • The following are required at all times while competing:

    - Helmet

    - Eye Protection

    - Long Sleeve Shirt

    - Long Pants

    Failure to wear required safety equipment will result in disqualification.

UMC officials reserve the right to inspect any mower at any time.

Any mower deemed unsafe or outside the spirit of the class may be disqualified.
